Making the Environmental Friendly Choice: Low VOC Paints

We only have one Earth so it's our job to do everything we can to take care of it. We try to do our part here by spreading our knowledge of healthier paints and all the benefits that come with them.

We know you want the best paint possible for whatever project you're working on and we are happy to let you know that you don't have to sacrifice quality to achieve this while still staying environmentally friendly.

We're going to cover some commonly asked questions regarding low VOC paints, how they benefit you, and why they could be a good choice for your project. Why Is Lead Paint Dangerous?

Q: What are low VOC paints?
A: Low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints are soybean-based as opposed to most petroleum-based paints.

Q: Are low VOC paints safe?
A: Low VOC paints are much healthier for people and the environment. These paints will cause a lot less harm to our atmosphere. They also won’t cause all of the health issues high VOC paints can such as headaches, nausea, dizziness, and sensory irritation.

Q: Are low VOC paints worth it?
A: Low VOC are typically a bit more expensive but there is a quality increase when you upgrade. Our soybean-based paints not only tend to last longer but also do a better job of staying clean from dust and other residue buildups. Looking newer for longer.

Q: Are low VOC paints necessary?
A: These paints are not necessary as we have all types of different paints. Certain jobs may be a better fit for a higher VOC paint. Ask us what we recommend for your project and we can discuss what our best course of action will be!
